GRRO Press Release
GRRO SHIPS NEW PLATFORM TEMPEST DRYER TO CALIFORNIA FOR TESTING ON POULTRY WASTE
May 25, 2007
Eldora,
Iowa-Global Resource Recovery Organization, Inc. (GRRO) is
pleased to announce that it has shipped a Next Generation Tempest Dryer
to California for a month of testing on poultry waste. This
project is being funded under an agreement with Farm Pilot
Coordination, Inc. (FPPC) in conjunction with the United States
Department of Agriculture’s National Resources Conservation Service
(“NRCS”) to commercialize the GRRO Tempest Dying Technology in all
Animal Feeding Operations (AFO) in North America.
The Next Generation Tempest is a complete turn-key portable manure
processing system for swine, fowl, and bovine. This system which is
both modular in design and scalable to operation size as required.
The Tempest system funded by the FPPC uses a new technology platform
established by GRRO for the new generation of Tempest Dryer. The new
platform of the Tempest Dryer uses an advanced material injection
system that induces the material to be dried into the air stream at a
high velocity assuring an even distribution of the material in the air
stream. The addition of a mixer before the material enters the TPC
gives a controlled blend of wet and dry material to increase the
relative solids content before drying.

Farm Pilot Project Coordination, Inc. (FPPC), a non-profit
organization, was designated by Congress (Public Law 107-76) to assist
in implementing innovative treatment technologies to address the
growing waste issues associated with animal feeding operations (AFOs).
FPPC’s objective is to foster the conservation, development and wise
use of land, water, and related resources, while providing AFOs with
opportunities for profitable operation.
The FPPC's Mandate
FPPC’s specific mandate is to oversee the implementation and
administration of a Pilot Project Program to demonstrate economically
viable innovative treatment technology systems that reduce the nutrient
content of the waste stream from AFOs by 75 percent or greater. Funding
for approved Pilot Projects comes from monies appropriated by Congress
and overseen by the Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), a
division of the United States Department of
Agriculture.
Founded in 1999, GRRO is an Iowa based environmental solutions company
that develops and markets cyclonic air drying technologies. The
new cyclonic drying products provide cost effective solutions for waste
disposal.
